Let's be clear, the EIA has said, anything that gets our industry at full capacity in regards to Events big and small, that will allow all event types to get back to work, we support.

However, how will it work, who pays for the compliance, how will organizers of community events manage the policing, how will non-ticketed unfenced outdoor events manage this? How will the cost be compensated to event businesses for extra staff, technologies? There is still a lot to work out before we can fully endorse such a measure.

When events are reluctant to even start the long process of planning an event due to the devastating financial impacts a snap lockdown causes, another financial impost is not a welcome one.
