City of Perth Update - End to End Review, 2025 Events Strategy
In 2020 the City Perth held a review on its future direction for events and marketing. Obviously, a lot has taken place between now and then with the COVID-19 pandemic becoming a catastrophic issue throughout the year.
City of Perth has been working hard in the background and undertaken a major end-to-end review of our event service – including a review of our event and activations delivery, event approvals, and event compliance and risk assessment processes.
The output of this work is the 2025 Events Strategy, recently endorsed by Council in May, and the City’s first-ever events strategy.
The 2025 Events Strategy is the culmination of the feedback we received from you, and outlines a new direction and approach for the City of Perth to take us to our vision of being ‘the events heart of WA’. Complimenting this document, the City has also published a Signature Events Plan 2021-22 outlining events the City will be delivering for the community in the coming year – including Perth’s largest annual event to be delivered bigger and better than ever before across Perth on Australia Day.
As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, the City is also taking the opportunity to deliver a streamlined sponsorship and grants process, ensuring the City’s $5 million sponsorship and grants budget for FY21/22 is delivering the best possible outcomes for our community. Our Events Sponsorship round 1, Arts Sponsorship, Major Events, and Festivals Sponsorship, and Business Improvement Grants are continuing, as we pause remaining programs to review and realign our efforts with the recently approved Events Strategy 2025 and Sponsorship and Grants Policy.
Over the coming months, we will be able to share more about this journey and give you more information about the sponsorship and grant programs that will provide opportunities to work with us to bring prosperity, livability, and sustainability to the City of Perth.
