The Town of Bassendean is an urban village located approximately 10 kilometres north-east of Perth and 5 minutes from the Swan Valley vineyards. With a total area of 11 square kilometres, the Town is bounded by the Swan River, the City of Swan to the north and the City of Bayswater to the west. It has a river frontage of 7 kilometres. It has a population of approximately 15 000.
The town co-ordinates a number of community events throughout the year including the NAIDOC Family Day and the Australia Day Celebrations & Fireworks, as well as manages a number of arts initiatives including the Bassendean Visual Art Award, the Town’s Art Collection, the Percent for Art projects, and community arts projects.
The town also manages a number of recreational reserves and facilities including halls and clubrooms.
