Located ideally in the heart of Perth’s CBD in the Carillon City Office Tower and in operation since 1993, Perth Institute Western Australia (PIWA) prides itself on developing courses that are modern and appropriate to the changing demands of the events industry, both in Australia and internationally. Over a population of around 600 students PIWA offers the highest quality education with all lectures conducted by nationally accredited professionals.
One of our lecturers is a holder of a Diploma of Hospitality Management, studying towards BA Training and Development (Curtin) and BSc Mathematics (Overseas Qualifications) and has worked 18 years in Hospitality mostly in Events and F&B.

Another PIWA lecturer in Event Management has extensive experience in the event industry. During his time teaching Event Management at Charles Darwin University he staged two major events: a charity dinner to raise funds for a converted car for a wheel chair person and a luncheon for the Melbourne Cup. Before teaching he has been involved in planning and running the Melbourne Cup event for 2005 and 2006 at the Novotel Atrium Darwin Hotel where he had worked for 6 years as Duty Manager and Front Office Manager supervising staff working in conferencing as well as liaising with conference groups with Reservations and Sales departments. He also did lots of site inspections for government, business, weddings and trade shows.
Industry Placement – real skills, real experience…
All students are required to complete compulsory Industry Placement. It is also highly recommended that students undertake
voluntary work experience or paid employment to assist in gaining some industry experience as a start to their new career. PIWA has signed an agreement with Employment Success Pty Ltd to provide our students with professional recruitment services: assistance in paid Industry Placement and Job Placement upon completion of the course as well as resume writing and interview techniques.
